TCM therapy of chronic common diseases

This 2-days workshop will introduce you the world of Constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM constitution). In addition to the Chinese medicine theory, we will focus on the identification of TCM constitution and the application of various techniques in conditioning people of unbalanced constitutions in common diseases.
TCM Constitution refers to the comprehensive and relatively stable inherent characteristics of body structure, physiological function and mental state formed on the basis of innate endowment and acquired in the process of human life. People of different constitutions have different susceptibility to diseases, the targeted use of corresponding TCM therapies can achieve better curative effects. The main contents of this course are as follows.
1. Identification of 9 TCM Constitutions: Assessment scale, classification standards, major characteristic, disease sensitivity, disease prevention and health guidance different TCM constitutions are included.
2. Insomnia: common constitution types, targeted TCM treatment methods (acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese patent medicine, dietary therapeutic prescription, exercise and living adjustment, ect.)
3. Depressive state: common constitution types, targeted TCM treatment methods (acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese patent medicine, dietary therapeutic prescription, exercise and living adjustment, ect.)
4. Metabolic disorder: common constitution types, targeted TCM treatment methods (acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese patent medicine, dietary therapeutic prescription, exercise and living adjustment, ect.)
Introducing the students to the world of TCM Constitution in theory and practice (especially TCM therapies for common diseases) is the goal of the workshop.
- Fei Tan is an experienced doctor of Chinese medicine from Xianning, Hubei. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Massage from Hubei University of Chinese Medicine (2010-2015) and a Master's degree in Chinese Internal Medicine from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (2015-2020). Since 2021, she has been working as a doctor and research assistant at the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. Currently, she is a visiting scholar at the University Medical Centre Utrecht. Her expertise lies in treating common conditions with traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture and moxibustion, with a special focus on treating insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and pain. Fei Tan has authored several scientific publications on the measurable effects of TCM treatment methods.
