Basic medical knowledge is of great importance to non-BIG-registered healthcare professionals (therapists). Physical examination is an important tool for therapists, not only to understand anatomy and pathology, but also in recognition of so called red flag conditions.
Shenzhou Open University of TCM organizes a set of seminar days on physical examination.
The topic of seminar Physical Examination part 2 is the locomotor system.
This seminar Physical Examination part 2 can be followed as a single item, without having previously attended to the seminar Physical Examination part 1.
At the end of this seminar participants …
- will be able to mention examples of cases in which they might consider to do physical examination,
- will be able to mention conditions for proper physical examination,
- will be able to mention the basic principles of physical examination, in particular regarding the locomotor system,
- have been demonstrated a set of physical examination of the upper and lower extremities and the back
- have had the opportunity to exercise this set of physical examination
- will be able to mention red flag findings at this et of examinations
In an interactive way participants and the teacher will work together to reach the above mentioned goal of this seminar.
Participants must be prepared to be examined by both teacher and fellow participants as well as to perform demonstrated examination on fellow participants. It is needless to say that all of this takes place under the security of mutual secrecy on any findings.
