Acupuncture in Pain Management and the Underlying Ide

Nowadays, there are many development in the approach of acupuncture treatment. The new approach in acupuncture world consider that their new ide in acupuncture as the modern acupuncture that seems not related with the classical one. The purpose of my presentation is to remind people that classical acupuncture (in combination with modern acupuncture) is still up to date and deserve a positive place in acupuncture treatment, especially in pain management for different purpose. I will emphasize how important holistic treatment in pain management in the acupuncture is, by means of treating ‘Qi-deficiency’, together with the local treatment.

On the first day of the presentation, the meaning of Qi, related with Qi-deficiency, the reason of many complains and disease, as well as the technique of acupuncture in pain management, will be analysis according to the modern medical theory based on the neuro-physiological, neuro-endocrine system, the same as some scientific study to prove the cardiovascular effect of acupuncture, in relation with the treatment for Qi-deficiency. The segmental approach which is related with some pain that occur in some area of the body, together with acupuncture treatment that related with segmental innervation of the periphery nervous system, will be also introduced on day 1.

Some complains like Migraine, low back pain as well as neck-/shoulder pain and the pain caused by Myofascial Trigger Points (which is related with Rheumatism, Bursitis, Fibromyalgia, Restless Leg Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis and many others), will be as highlight presented in the presentation on the second day. About how important integrated medicine (western- eastern) in the interpretation of those disorder from the pathophysiology in relation with the treatment, will be mentioned too. On the second day of the presentation, will also emphasize how important to pay attention in holistic treatment, i.e. to treat Qi-deficiency, in pain management.

The classical acupuncture points for treating ‘Qi-deficiency’ and some local points in pain management will be presented. The presentation will also introduce the advantage and disadvantage of different acupuncture technique in pain management, based on scientific approach nowadays. Some video film about different technique in pain management (like Dry Needling and Chinese Electro-acupuncture) will be presented in the presentation.

This presentation is the product of long time study and also with many years practicing acupuncture for thousands patients with chronic pain which is resulting in the publishing of my book called Chinese (Electro) Acupuncture Cure for Chronic Pain in 2013.

1) 1976, Graduated as Medical Doctor at Chiangxi Medical University in China; 2) 1977 - 1978 work as Medical Doctor in provincial hospital in Chiangxi, China; 3) 1988, take advance course at the Academy of TCM in Beijing, for diploma acupuncture; 4)  1990, Graduated as Medical Doctor at the Free University in Amsterdam; 5) 1991 - 2003 work as Medical Doctor (Western Doctor) in Netherland; 6)2004 - 2005 take course of acupuncture study by de NAAV*, (SNO**), for C-diploma; 7) 2005 - 2018, member of the NAAV; 8) 2005 - 2019, work as acupuncturist and tutor for the student during the apprenticeship at Shenzhou  University, Chinese Medical Centre; 9) 2008 - 2023, BIG registered*** as Medical Doctor Professional.
