Concepts of psyche, the neurological and biological basis (WM/ psychology)
Understand Shen in TCM
– Review of the understanding of mental disorders in classics
– The Five Shen Zang with seven emotions, their features and their cooperation
– Normal mental activities and their valuations, understand character, temperament, and personality
Etiology and pathology of mental disorders in TCM
Diagnosis and treatment principles
Dealing with western medicine that patients use.
- Yifan Yang studeerde van 1977 tot 1982 TCM en WM aan de Universiteit voor Traditionele Chinese Geneeskunde in Peking. Na haar afstuderen werkte ze daar als arts en docent op de afdeling Chinese kruidenformules en voltooide ze haar masterstudie in Chinese kruidengeneeskunde en formules. In 1990 verhuisde ze naar Nederland en werkt ze als behandelaar en docent in hetzelfde vakgebied. Ze geeft al meer dan 20 jaar les bij Shenzhou en geeft seminars in België, Duitsland, Zwitserland, Oostenrijk en Polen.

The mental and psychosomatic disorders are often seen in TCM practice. The therapies, particularly acupuncture, herbs, Tuina and lifestyle advice can reduce the suffering of the patients as in TCM mind and body are closely linked together, and the Seven Emotions are considered as the causative factors of disorders. In this webinar series, Dr. Yifan Yang will put her study and experience both in China and in the West together, to discuss a series of mental and psychosomatic disorders and the possibility of treatment in TCM in a dynamic way. Meanwhile, she will give valuable advice and tips for therapy selection, sequence, prognosis, cautions, limitations as well as how to work together with present psychotherapies and medications in western medicine.
