These online seminars aim to provide an opportunity to those who have qualified as acupuncturists & Tuina practitioners to learn the basic knowledge of the most commonly used single herbs and the classic herbal formulas used in the clinic.
The total learning is 15 days, which is divided into three units. Each unit includes 5 study days.
Indicative teaching contents:
Day 1
- Differentiation and treatment of respiratory disorders: cough, common cold
- Differentiation and treatment of digestive disorders: stomach-ache, diarrhoea, constipation (they refer to diseases in modern medicine: acute and chronic gastroenteritis, peptic and duodenal ulcer, Crohn’s disease, colitis, hepatitis, cholecystitis, irritable, bowel syndrome, habitual constipation)
- Clinical case discussion
Day 2
- Differentiation and treatment of urinary disorders: Lin zheng and Long Bi (they refer to the diseases in modern medicine as acute and chronic urinary tract infection, cystitis, pyelonephritis, chronic glomerulonephritis, urinary incontinence, prostatitis, hypertrophy of prostate, male infertility)
- Differentiation and treatment of Bi syndrome (they refer to the diseases in modern medicine as Arthritis, lumbago, sciatica)

Day 3
- Differentiations and treatment of women disorders – Menstruation disorders (irregular menstrual cycle; amenorrhea; dysmenorrhea- Menopause syndrome- Infertility
- Clinical case discussion
Day 4
- Differentiations and treatment of mental disorders
- The understanding of the body and mind in TCM- Insomnia- Anxiety- Depression
- Clinical case discussion
Day 5
- Differentiation and treatment of skin disorders
- Etiology and pathology- Differentiations of skin lesions in TCM- Commonly used internal treatment methods- Commonly used topical preparations(they refer to diseases in modern medicine Eczema, neurodermatitis, acne, herpes zoster, urticaria, psoriasis)
